MIZE 1.1.0 is on TestFlight and headed to Play as a test build. The idea underneath: philosophies like Stoicism, wabi-sabi and Thoreau shaping how the coach talks.

The product decision underneath the build is philosophies.
"Minimalism" gets treated like a single lifestyle brand. One aesthetic. One set of rules. Fold the shirts this way. Own under 100 things. Throw the rest out by Friday.
That never matched how people actually arrive at less. Some people come through Stoicism and wanting fewer desires. Some through wabi-sabi and keeping the worn bowl that still works. Some through Thoreau and cutting what is not life. Same direction. Different reasons.
If a coach ignores that, it starts sounding like a pamphlet.
In MIZE you can pick the philosophies that resonate. Stoicism. Taoism. Buddhism. Epicureanism. Zen. Wabi-sabi. Transcendentalism. Thoreau / Walden. Lagom. Dieter Rams. Essentialism. Others. Seventeen in the catalog right now. Select as many as you like, or none.
Each one has a short description, and a "Tell me more" expansion with the connection to decluttering and a few aspects. On home, a tip rotates among the ones you chose. You can look the idea up, or ask Mize to apply it to today. The coach is meant to color tasks lightly with that tone, not lecture you with name-drops.
The point is not to turn decluttering into a seminar. It is to stop pretending there is only one honest way to want less.
When the advice matches a lineage you already trust, the next small step feels like yours. Control what you can. Repair before you replace. Cut one thing that isn't life. Enough is enough.
That is where the benefits sit: a bit more calm, a bit more intention, less arguing with yourself about why you are doing this. Less as a mood of freedom, not a punishment.
Philosophies are not a personality quiz with a prize. They will not clean a drawer for you. And a test build is a test build. 1.1.0 is for TestFlight and Play testing, not a public ship date. Reminder duplicates and "Avoid" task pushes got fixed on the backend; spacing and splash got another pass. Testers will find sharp edges. That is the job.
I am keeping the post about the idea, not the changelog, because the interesting decision is this: if minimalism has lineages, the product should ask which ones matter to you before it starts talking.
Related: MIZE is free on iOS and Android. Product Hunt is still set for 8 October.
Less is not one sermon. It is a set of older conversations. The app should join the one you are already in.
